I have been serving the Edgewood Community for 10 years. In this time, I have worked as a bilingual pre-kinder paraprofessional, bilingual 1st and 2nd-grade teacher, administrative intern and most recently as an assistant principal.

I have not only served the Edgewood community but am also a mother of two former Edgewood scholars. My family and I have great love and respect for this community and look forward to continuing being part of it.

After completing high school in Monterrey, Mexico, I attended Texas A&M University - Kingsville and obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Following a serendipitous meeting with doctoral students of education, I realized that my talents and passion lay in working with children and language development. I joined the education department and earned a master's degree in bilingual education. My desire to continue developing my craft lead me to complete a master's degree in educational leadership through Trinity University.

I view a collaborative and cooperative school culture as the key to creating successful students and teachers. I look forward to working with the Winston community to help promote a learning environment where students feel challenged, nurtured and cared for.
