Principal - Claudia Sanchez

SanchezWelcome!

I am very excited to serve as the new Principal at Winston Elementary. I look forward to an enriching experience as we work collaboratively in guiding our scholars in their academic endeavors, helping them become independent thinkers and life-long learners.

This is my twelfth year as an educator, all of them spent proudly serving the Edgewood Community. During my tenure in EISD, I have served as an elementary monolingual and bilingual teacher, an Instructional Coach at the middle school and a middle school Assistant Principal. In addition to my experiences at the campus level, I also served as the District Coordinator for School Improvement.

I graduated from Dr. Leo G. Cigarroa High School in Laredo, Texas and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Political Science. After working in the business world for more than ten years, I went back to school to attain my teaching certification and began my work as a teacher. I then enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont where I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration with Principal Certification.
